All Kung Fu and Qi Gong classes are now back after our mid-year break. Also, don’t forget that the new Qi Gong class in Kiama on Tuesday evenings starts this week, 5.30 to 7.00 pm at the Kiama Mind Body Spirit Centre, 42 Terralong Street, Kiama (behind Black Rock Cafe).

Mid-year break – 18th June to 18th July

Please note that the Illawarra Kung Fu Academy will be taking a break for four weeks in June/July.

The last Kids Kung Fu Class will be Monday 14th June, with classes resuming on Monday 19th July.

The last Jamberoo Qi Gong class will be Wednesday 16th June, with classes resuming on Wednesday 21st July.

The last Adults Kung Fu class will be Wednesday 16th June, with classes resuming on Wednesday 21st July.

The new Kiama Qi Gong class on Tuesday evenings will start on Tuesday 20th July.

New Qi Gong class starting soon in Kiama

After much searching we’ve finally found a place in Kiama for a new Qi Gong class. We’ll be starting an open class (anyone welcome, beginner to advanced) on Tuesday evenings from 5.30 to 7.00pm, from Tuesday 20th July. Classes will be at the Kiama Mind Body Spirit Centre at 42 Terralong Street, Kiama (behind the Black Rock cafe).

We’re also looking at the possibility of a daytime class at the same location in the future.

Kiama Mind Body Spirit Centre is a new wellbeing centre that will be opening soon, offering all kinds of classes and private practitioners. We’re very happy to be a part of this exciting new project.

Call or email us for further details if you’re interested, or just come along in July when classes start.

Grading and T-Shirts

Our first grading will be held between 9am and noon this Saturday, 1st May at the Kiama hall. Best of luck to everyone taking part.

Also, Illawarra Kung Fu Academy t-shirts are now available to buy at $25 each. Please contact me if you want one or ask at any class.

Kids Classes start again today after the Easter break. 4pm at the Kiama Masonic Hall.

Wednesday morning Qi Gong classes recommence this week too, 9.15am on the 21st April at the Jamberoo Youth Hall.

Adults Kung Fu continued throughout the Easter break and will continue as normal from 5.30pm Monday and Wednesday.

Please note that children’s Kung Fu classes are now on Easter break. Kids classes will resume on Monday 19th April. Qi Gong classes are also on break, resuming on Wednesday 21st April.

Adults Kung Fu classes will continue as usual every Monday and Wednesday. The Kung Fu grading will be held on Saturday 1st May from 9am till 12 noon at the Kiama Masonic Hall.

Also, don’t forget the Qi Gong 18 Lohan workshop on Saturday 10th April (during the Easter break), from 9am till 12 noon. Details of this workshop can be found below. Everyone welcome – bring your friends and family and introduce them to Qi Gong.

18 Lohan Qi Gong workshop, April 10th

We’re running a Qi Gong workshop on Saturday 10th April, 2010. The workshop will be three hours on Saturday morning from 9am till noon and will look in detail at the 18 Lohan form. This is a great refresher for people learning the form as well as a good introduction to people interested in getting a feel for what Lohan Qi Gong is all about.

The workshop will be held in beautiful Jamberoo village and will cost $35 per person.

Tuesday Qi Gong classes suspended

Please note that Tuesday evening Qi Gong classes in Jamberoo are currently suspended. If you’re interested in this time class, please contact us to let us know and if enough interest is shown we’ll get it going again. In the meantime we’re looking for a location in Kiama for another Qi Gong class.

New Year Lion Dance in Kiama

The Illawarra Kung Fu Academy was proud to do a Chinese New Year Lion Dance for the House Of Canton restaurant in Kiama on Friday 19th February. We had help from our good friends at Sydney CLF and Pennant Hills CLF (links for those guys on the Contact page).
